Malaysian Junior Robotic Competition (MJRC)

In collaboration with Sasbadi and Ministry of Education, this is the competition where students use their creativity to programme Lego Mindstorm robots to compete against each other.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE

Inspire students to problem solving by thinking creatively, logically, and ‘out of the box’.

1) Increase their expertise using technology such as
i Computer programming
ii Build and design robots
iii Increased knowledge in maths, science, computer, art, and language

2) Nurture team spirit, improve communication skills, and develop leadership skills

3) Nurture the ability of problem solving and increase motivation

PROGRAMME COMPONENTS

The competition is divided to three stages:

i. Zone level competition (5 zones). Zone A is Federal Territory, Zone B is Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor, Zone C is Perlis, Kedah, Penang, and Perak, Zone D is Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang, while Zone E comprised of Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.

ii. National level competition. 50 teams will be chosen from zone level to compete in national level.

iii. International level competition. Competition held with contestants from all over the world. i.e. in 2003, the International Robotics Olympiad (IRO) was held at Daejon, Korea and World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2004 was held at Singapore.
