Graduated
from State University of New York (Binghamton, USA) in 1980. The
same year, she joined Faculty of Science in Universiti Teknologi
Malaysia (UTM) and later obtained MSc degree in Ionization Physics
from University College of Swansea (Wales, UK) in 1982. She carried
out her research related to Laser Technology Applications in Fluid
Flows in UTM and obtained her PhD in 1992. Elevated to a Professor
at the Faculty of Civil Engineering (2000), she began her research
on a better system to control erosion, hence the birth of Sine-Slab.
Beginning December 2000, she was seconded to the Bureau of Innovation
of Consultancy as Manager for Commercialization.
Apart from her own research on product improvement of Sine-Slab
as revetment and floating breakwater facilities, she is also involved
in consultancy (research contracts) related to fluid flow modeling
and physical modeling study of coastal structures namely, breakwaters,
beams, artificial reefs and revetments. |
